Qigong & Energetic Architecture

External training hardens the shell; internal training cultivates the current. The Shaman does not just build the vessel—they command the voltage that flows through it.

Qigong (Chi Kung) is the active practice of structural alignment, breath mechanics, and intention (Yi) to circulate vital energy (Qi). Where calisthenics and heavy iron build muscular tension and bone density, Qigong unwinds stagnant physical and energetic knots, creating a highly conductive, grounded nervous system.

The Base Positions (Zhan Zhuang / Standing Meditation)

Static postures designed to align the skeletal structure with gravity, allowing maximum energetic flow with zero muscular exertion.

StanceExecutionApplication
Wuji (The Void)Feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly unlocked, spine suspended from the crown, pelvis tucked.Neutralizes the nervous system; the absolute baseline for structural resets.
Hugging the TreeWuji stance, but arms raised to chest height, elbows dropped, fingers pointing toward each other.Builds internal hydrostatic pressure and deep fascial endurance without joint shear.

Movement Protocols (Dynamic Alchemy)

Moving the body through space synchronized with deep diaphragmatic breathing. These are slow, intentional geometric shifts, often drawing from the Ba Duan Jin (Eight Pieces of Brocade).

MovementMechanicsEnergetic / Physical Focus
Two Hands Hold Up the HeavensInterlock fingers, press palms to the sky while inhaling, lower while exhaling.Stretches the Triple Burner meridian; decompresses the heavy spinal load from squatting/pressing.
Drawing the BowStep into a wide horse stance, simulate drawing a heavy longbow, gaze past the extended index finger.Opens the chest/lung meridians; cultivates singular, piercing focus (target-slide visualization).
Separating Heaven and EarthOne palm presses up to the ceiling, the other presses down to the floor, rotating the torso slightly.Balances the spleen and stomach; physically wrings out the core and lateral fascial lines.
Punching with an Angry GazeHorse stance, throw a slow, tension-filled punch while glaring intensely, then relax completely on retraction.Channels and releases aggressive, stagnant liver energy (catharsis).

Breath & Internal Mechanics

The invisible engine driving the physical geometry.

TechniqueExecution Standard
Buddhist BreathingBelly expands on the inhale, retracts on the exhale. The standard default for relaxation.
Reverse (Daoist) BreathingBelly pulls in on the inhale, pushes out on the exhale.
Microcosmic OrbitVisualizing energy rising up the spine (Governing Vessel) on the inhale, and descending down the front of the body (Conception Vessel) on the exhale.

Integration Protocols

(How to apply these movements within the 10-Day Tetractys Cycle)

1. The Post-Iron Down-Regulation

Used immediately after intense hypertrophy or central nervous system fatigue.

  • Protocol: 5–10 minutes of Wuji or Hugging the Tree.
  • Goal: Shift the body out of sympathetic fight-or-flight into parasympathetic recovery. Ground the aggressive energy generated by the iron.

2. The Liminal Reset (Fasting / Recovery)

Integrated into 72-hour fasting windows and sauna sessions.

  • Protocol: 15–20 minutes of dynamic Qigong (Ba Duan Jin) followed by Microcosmic Orbit meditation.
  • Goal: Moving energy when caloric intake is zero. Prevents muscular stiffness and maintains energetic momentum while the physical body undergoes autophagy and deep physical resets.

3. The Pre-Flow Anchor

Used before transitioning into complex kinesthetic geometry (Animal Movements or Martial Arts).

  • Protocol: 3 minutes of deep Daoist Breathing in a horse stance.
