Daily Planetary and Angelic Invocations
This wiki page documents the daily prayers and conjurations from two highly influential historical grimoires: the Picatrix (Ghāyat al-Ḥakīm) and the Heptameron (attributed to Peter de Abano).
While the Picatrix approaches prayer as a mechanism to draw down planetary rays through astrological magic, the Heptameron operates within a strict Judeo-Christian cosmological framework, commanding the Archangels who rule the days of the week.
Part I: The Picatrix (Astrological Planetary Invocations)
Tradition: Astrological Magic
Mechanism: Sympathetic resonance and the drawing down of celestial rays. Invocations are best spoken on the day governed by the planet, ideally during its specific planetary hour.
Sunday: Invocation of the Sun (Ash-Shams)
Domain: Illumination, sovereignty, vitality, and the lifting of obscurity.
“O Sun, luminous and brilliant, hot and dry, source of light and life! You are the center of the spheres, the great king who drives away the darkness and brings all things into visibility. I invoke you by your hidden names and by your spirit which moves the fourth heaven. I ask that you direct your radiant rays upon me today. Clarify my mind, elevate my spirit, and grant me sovereignty over my own domain. Bestow upon me the vitality of your eternal fire, that I may execute my will with majesty and truth, and stand unshaken in the center of my works.”
Monday: Invocation of the Moon (Al-Qamar)
Domain: Fluidity, cycles, intuition, and the materialization of forms.
“O Moon, swift in your course, cold and moist, the key to the spheres! You are the receiver of the astral light, gathering the rays of all the planets and pouring them down into the world of generation. I invoke you by your luminous face and your hidden dark. I ask that you direct your silver rays upon my endeavors. Govern the tides of my circumstances, protect my works from dissolution, and grant me clear visions. May the currents of this day flow in my favor, and may the subtle matters of my life take solid and prosperous form.”
Tuesday: Invocation of Mars (Al-Mirrikh)
Domain: Severing bindings, victory, courage, and martial vigor.
“O Mars, hot and dry, lord of the sword, the spear, and the iron of the earth! You are the courageous, the victorious, the severer of obstacles, and the master of the burning fire. I conjure you by your forceful spirit and the red light of your sphere. I ask that you direct your martial rays upon me. Grant me an unbreakable will, conquer my adversaries, and burn away the hesitation within my mind. Give me the strength to overcome that which resists me, and let my actions strike with the precision and finality of a drawn blade.”
Wednesday: Invocation of Mercury (Utarid)
Domain: Intellect, swift communication, commerce, and hidden knowledge.
“O Mercury, subtle of spirit, swift of mind, and traveler between the realms! You are the lord of the pen, the ledger, the script, and the deepest sciences. I invoke you by your adaptable nature, you who harmonize with both the malefic and the benefic. I ask that you direct your swift rays upon my intellect. Sharpen my memory, make elegant my speech, and reveal to me the hidden mechanisms of the world. Grant me agility in my dealings and exactness in my calculations, that my mind may mirror the perfection of your orbit.”
Thursday: Invocation of Jupiter (Al-Mushtari)
Domain: Expansion, justice, wealth, and philosophical wisdom.
“O Jupiter, the great benefic, temperate and warm, lord of justice and truth! You are the expansive one, the bringer of fortune, peace, and profound philosophy. I conjure you by your generous spirit and by the sovereignty of your sphere. I ask that you direct your benevolent rays upon my life. Expand my domain, bring fortune to my undertakings, and root my mind in enduring wisdom. Protect me from the narrowness of poverty and malice, and let my actions be guided by your noble and temperate light.”
Friday: Invocation of Venus (Az-Zuhara)
Domain: Harmony, aesthetics, desire, and the binding of spirits.
“O Venus, brilliant and beautiful, cold and moist, lady of joy and harmony! You are the graceful one, the binder of hearts, the source of aesthetics, and the architect of desire. I invoke you by your radiant light and the sweetness of your sphere. I ask that you direct your harmonizing rays upon me and my surroundings. Draw favor and good will toward my works, bring beauty to the things I create, and bind to me the alliances I require. Let all that I encounter today be smoothed by your grace.”
Saturday: Invocation of Saturn (Zuhal)
Domain: Discipline, foundations, endurance, and ancient mysteries.
“O Saturn, ancient one, cold and dry, lord of the seventh sphere! You are the highest of the planets, slow and profound, master of the earth, the stone, and the passage of time. I invoke you by your heavy spirit and your enduring patience. I ask that you direct your profound rays upon my foundations. Grant me the discipline to build that which lasts, the endurance to withstand the weight of time, and the focus to master the deepest mysteries. Solidify my works into stone, and let no shallow force break what I have anchored in your name.”
Part II: The Heptameron (Angelic Conjurations)
Tradition: Judeo-Christian Solomonic Magic
Mechanism: Formal, authoritative conjuration utilizing divine names and the invocation of the Creation to command the ruling Archangels of the days of the week.
Sunday: Conjuration of Michael (The Sun)
“I conjure and confirm upon you, O strong and holy Angel Michael, by the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. I conjure you by the supreme name Adonai, Eye, Eye, Eye, who is He who was, and is, and is to come, Eye, Abray; and by the name Saday, Cados, Cados, Cados, sitting on high upon the Cherubim. I conjure you by the name of the star which is the Sun, and by his sign, and by the immense name of the living God. Monday: Conjuration of Gabriel (The Moon)
“I conjure and confirm upon you, O strong and good Angel Gabriel, by the name of Jehovah, Elohim, Iah, Iah, Iah, Iah, Va, Va, Va, Va, and by the name of the Lord Adonai, who created the sea and all lakes and waters on the second day. I conjure you by the names of the Angels who serve in the first host, and by the name of the star which is the Moon. I command thee, Gabriel, by the seal of the great God, that you minister unto me. Grant me safe passage in all my travels, dissolve the hidden illusions that surround me, and bring swift manifestation to my spoken word, by the authority of Him who divided the waters from the waters. “I conjure and call upon you, O strong and holy Angel Samael, by the holy names Ya, Ya, Ya, He, He, He, Va, Hy, Ha, Ha, Ha, Va, Va, Va, An, An, An, Aie, Aie, Aie, El, Ay, Elibra, Elohim, Elohim. I conjure you by the names of the Angels serving in the fifth host, and by the name of the star which is Mars. By the names of the great God who created the dry land, I command you, Samael, to stand beside me. Wednesday: Conjuration of Raphael (Mercury)
“I conjure and call upon you, O holy and benevolent Angel Raphael, by the strong and great names of God: Mathon, Emanuel, Ie, Ia, Ie, Ia. I conjure you by the names of the Angels serving in the second host, by the seal of the Almighty, and by the name of the star which is Mercury. “I conjure and confirm upon you, O holy Angel Sachiel, by the holy names Cados, Cados, Cados, Eschereie, Eschereie, Eschereie, Hatim, Ya, Strong, Founder of the worlds. I conjure you by the names of the Angels serving in the sixth host, and by the name of the star of Jupiter. By the name of the great God who created the beasts of the earth and man in His own image, I command you, Sachiel, to attend my voice. Expand the borders of my prosperity, establish peace and justice within my dwelling, and bring forth the dignities and wealth required to execute my divine will. Amen.”
Friday: Conjuration of Anael (Venus)
“I conjure and confirm upon you, O strong and holy Angel Anael, by the sacred names On, Hey, Heya, Ia, In, An, Voval, Saday. I conjure you by the names of the Angels serving in the third host, by the name of the star which is Venus, and by the seal of the living God. O Anael, by the authority of Him who rested on the seventh day and made it holy, I command that you hear my voice. Bind the hearts of men to my favor, bring absolute harmony to my endeavors, and manifest the quiet joys and aesthetic perfections of the celestial spheres into my earthly life. Amen.”
Saturday: Conjuration of Cassiel (Saturn)
“I conjure and confirm upon you, O powerful and ancient Angel Cassiel, by the names of the great Creator: Aben, Agla, Cados, Cados, Cados. I conjure you by the names of the Angels serving in the seventh host, by the supreme name of the Lord who rules the end of all things, and by the star which is Saturn. I command you, Cassiel, by the maker of the Heavens and the Earth, to descend. Grant me the endurance of stone, mastery over the slow passage of time, and profound understanding of the deep, melancholic mysteries.
